Neuromesodermal progenitors en route to spinal cord and somites

058: Neuromesodermal progenitors en route to spinal cord and somites

Created by Mina Gouti (Briscoe lab)

This canvas was inspired by my recent work showing the generation of Neuromesodermal progenitors in the “culture dish” from mouse and human embryonic stem cells following the cues from mouse embryonic development. In the canvas you can see a petri dish with cells of different colours which are the in vitro generated neuromesodermal progenitors: “ the building blocks of the spinal cord and most of the muscle tissue” in our body. The different colours show the potential of these cells to form both the different spinal cord progenitor domains as well as the adjacent somites.
