We use a range of in vitro biophysical techniques, including optical spectroscopy methods, to investigate the structure and the interactions of macromolecules.
The canvas shows a prism splitting up white light to form a spectrum. Light at specific wavelengths is absorbed by the sample (biological molecules) in the cuvette. Here we show the amino acids Tryptophan, Tyrosine and Phenylalanine and their absorption spectra, as an example.
