The green walk

093: The green walk

Created by Liz Hirst

The grounds of NIMR contain four small fields with mown pathways, created as a “Green Walk” around the site. A very rich variety of wildlife shares our space within the perimeter fence. Muntjac and rabbits have been seen on the lawn below the restaurant in daylight while pipistrelle bats fly around shortly after dusk. In the fields below we can observe (with just a little patience) weasel, fox, grass snake, many bird varieties, butterflies and other insect species.
