David Keith Peters FRS
Keith Peters was Interim Director of NIMR from 2006 to 2009. He graduated in medicine from the Welsh National School of Medicine in 1961. He held posts at the University of Birmingham, at NIMR and the Welsh National School of Medicine before becoming a lecturer and consultant physician at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (RPMS), London. In 1977 he became Professor of Medicine and Director of the Department of Medicine at RPMS. Between 1987-2005 he was Regius Professor of Physic at the University of Cambridge, and head of the School of Clinical Medicine. Peters was knighted in 1993 and elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1995. He also became President of the Academy of Medical Sciences from 2002 to 2006. He is currently a Senior Consultant in Research and Development for GlaxoSmithKline.
