Dai Rees FRS

Dai Rees was the fifth Director of NIMR from 1982-7, during which time he implemented a major reorganization of the Institute and boosted its image to the outside world as a hub of science and ideas that could be exploited by Industry. After retirement from MRC Head Office Rees was much in demand by international organisations, his subsequent appointments have included President of the European Science Foundation (1994-1999) and vice-president of the Fondation Louis Jeantet de Medicine 1991-6.

1981 Elected Fellow of the Royal Society
1982 Appointed Director of NIMR
